Chris Dadds Tri-Oval Style Commercial Slot Car Track.  The track is currently up and running in our shop - Milwaukee, WI.

90′ Daytona style Tri-Oval slot car race track. It is 1/24 scale, eight lanes, and super fast. Customers race both 1/24 scale and 1/32 scale cars on the Daytona. NASCAR or Stock Cars, Indy Cars, and truck-bodied cars can usually speed around the track with lap times of 1.8 - 2.5 seconds and faster at 32 mph, while flat-bodied cars and wing cars can zip at an amazing 40+ mph in as fast as 1.3 seconds - it’s really something to see.  To date, the speed and time record for this track is .98 seconds at 60+ mph as shown in one of the videos below.

The track is in great shape for being used over the past 10 years or so.  We have bi-weekly races on it and everything is in proper working condition.  Braid was replaced about 2 years ago and should be good for the next year or two.

Everything included with this track sale consists of:

• Tri-Oval Daytona style layout with a footprint of approximately 34′ x 17′.  3′ area around the track should be provided to move and marshal.
• 87′ is the exact length of the longest outside lane from start to finish.
• 8 lanes with 8 control boxes for 8 racers at once.
• 1/24 scale is the setup but we also race 1/32 scale on it.
• Computer with SRT software.  This system is easy to use and fully functional for Time Seller, Practice Mode, Race Setup, Circuit or League Racing, and Recording of all results.
• Printer is included that we received with the track, but we never hooked it up.  Should work fine and comes with a small box of paper.
• One Monitor, Cables, and Splitter.  Just add another monitor and you will have two screens for whatever works best with your setup.
• Industrial Battery, Smart Charger, and all relays, wiring, and needed power cables to run the track and connect them to the computer.

All that is needed to be off and running is cars and controllers.  We have plenty of parts, cars, controllers, and all the accessories you could need, so we can definitely put together a package deal.

The Buyer is fully responsible for payment in full within 7 days of the purchase.  The Buyer is responsible for all arrangements to disassemble and pickup the track from our shop since this is a Local Pickup offering only.  We will certainly help in arranging all details and disassembling of the track, but the Buyer is responsible for labor/people, trailer or truck for transport, and needed tools for disassembly.  When we purchased the track, a 24′ rental truck was used to bring it to our shop from Michigan.

Award Requirements

• Currently enrolled at an Educational Institution between the months of September through December, 2007.
• Open to all levels of education.  No major, SAT, ACT, or GPA minimums are required.
• Complete, follow, and submit via email all the following three requirements, as attachments, to scholarship@rcslot.com on or before the deadline of 01/15/2008:

Requirement #1 – Keywords

Applicants must choose one of the sets of keywords listed below to complete Requirements #2 and #3.  Both singular and plural forms of the keywords must be used, such as car and cars, truck and trucks, etc.

Requirement #2 – Formatting

Save As:  The report needs to be saved as a Microsoft Word document.  The file name of the report needs to be the keywords and the applicant?s name combined with hyphens.
Example:  rc-airplane-john-smith

The following Title, Summary, and Similar Words sections should be included and appear before the report.

Title:  The title of the report is the keywords chosen combined with the applicant?s name.
Example:  RC Airplane John Smith

Summary:  One or two sentences summarizing the report.  This can not exceed 20 words in length and must include either RCSLOT as one of the words or RC Slot as two of the words.

Similar Words:  8 – 12 words or phrases similar to the keywords.  Include the keywords first followed by the similar words and separated by commas.  All similar words must be different and not repeated.
Example:  RC Airplane, Electric Planes, Gas Powered Jets, Giant Scale Plane, Airplanes.

Requirement #3 – Report

Report Part One:  The first part of the report needs to be a minimum of one page and no more than three pages in length, single spaced, and have one inch margins.  This part must include and be structured around the following:  How do the keywords relate to the hobby industry?

• Include commonly used terms, abbreviations, phrases, and explanations of the industry “lingo”.
• Why would someone need to know or be aware of these keywords?
• Where can hobbyists new to the industry learn more about these keywords?

Part One Images:  Three images must be submitted in .jpg format to support this part.  A red letter X in caps along with the file name of the image needs to be placed in the body of the report indicating when and where to reference the image.  For example, if an image with a file name of abc123.jpg is to be placed here (X abc123.jpg), the red X with the image file name in parenthesis is displayed.

Report Part Two:  The second part of the report needs to be one page in length, single spaced, and have one inch margins.  This part must include and be structured around the following:  How do the keywords relate to RCSLOT.com as a business serving the hobby industry?  The direction for this part is open and can focus on what the applicant feels best.
