RCSLOT 2007 Fall Scholarship Award - $500

RCSLOT.com is proud to announce the offering of its 2007 Fall Scholarship Award.  This scholarship is open to anyone in the United States currently attending an Educational Institution on a full or part-time basis.  Educational Institutions include but are not limited to technical, college, university, graduate, online, night classes, or those taking classes to further themselves in life.

Award Information

• Award deadline: all materials submitted by January 15, 2008.
• $500 Award Winner Announced: February 15, 2008.
• All communication, award information, and submission materials are done via email to scholarship@rcslot.com.

Award Requirements

• Currently enrolled at an Educational Institution between the months of September through December, 2007.
• Open to all levels of education.  No major, SAT, ACT, or GPA minimums are required.
• Complete, follow, and submit via email all the following three requirements, as attachments, to scholarship@rcslot.com on or before the deadline of 01/15/2008:

Requirement #1 - Keywords

Applicants must choose one of the sets of keywords listed below to complete Requirements #2 and #3.  Both singular and plural forms of the keywords must be used, such as car and cars, truck and trucks, etc.

Requirement #2 - Formatting

Save As:  The report needs to be saved as a Microsoft Word document.  The file name of the report needs to be the keywords and the applicant?s name combined with hyphens.
Example:  rc-airplane-john-smith

The following Title, Summary, and Similar Words sections should be included and appear before the report.

Title:  The title of the report is the keywords chosen combined with the applicant?s name.
Example:  RC Airplane John Smith

Summary:  One or two sentences summarizing the report.  This can not exceed 20 words in length and must include either RCSLOT as one of the words or RC Slot as two of the words.

Similar Words:  8 - 12 words or phrases similar to the keywords.  Include the keywords first followed by the similar words and separated by commas.  All similar words must be different and not repeated.
Example:  RC Airplane, Electric Planes, Gas Powered Jets, Giant Scale Plane, Airplanes.

Requirement #3 - Report

Report Part One:  The first part of the report needs to be a minimum of one page and no more than three pages in length, single spaced, and have one inch margins.  This part must include and be structured around the following:  How do the keywords relate to the hobby industry?

• Include commonly used terms, abbreviations, phrases, and explanations of the industry “lingo”.
• Why would someone need to know or be aware of these keywords?
• Where can hobbyists new to the industry learn more about these keywords?

Part One Images:  Three images must be submitted in .jpg format to support this part.  A red letter X in caps along with the file name of the image needs to be placed in the body of the report indicating when and where to reference the image.  For example, if an image with a file name of abc123.jpg is to be placed here (X abc123.jpg), the red X with the image file name in parenthesis is displayed.

Report Part Two:  The second part of the report needs to be one page in length, single spaced, and have one inch margins.  This part must include and be structured around the following:  How do the keywords relate to RCSLOT.com as a business serving the hobby industry?  The direction for this part is open and can focus on what the applicant feels best.
