Spektrum wins at XFC
Pilots using the revolutionary Spektrum DX7 or JR radios using Spektrum technology took the win in both the Heli and Airplane classes at the 2007 International Futaba® Extreme Flight Championship (XFC). This invitational event brings the top 20 airplane and top 20 heli pilots from around the world together to compete for cash prizes and ultimate recognition as some of the best RC Pilots in the world. With this level of skill on-hand, the competition was both breathtaking and awe-inspiring. In the end, Alan Szabo Jr. and Jason Noll took the top honors in the Heli and Airplane divisions using Spektrum-equipped radios.
Airplane
The winner of this year’s airplane class was never in doubt as Jason Noll combined dramatic freestyle and precision maneuvers during the airplane portion of the 2007 XFC. Noll led the pack from the first day and, despite an incident, this champion was never challenged. Jason’s radio of choice was none other than the JR 10X with a Spektrum Module System. The JR 10X provided the programming features Jason needed, while the Spektrum module for the 10X provided him with the solid and unwavering RF connection he needed to feel connected to his plane. Jason’s win marked the second year in a row he has won the Airplane class at the XFC. Great job, Jason! Congratulations on successfully defending your title.

Heli
Alan Szabo Jr. was on fire at the event as he clearly dominated each and every round. During Alan’s routine, he amazed the crowd with his skill and the control that he demonstrated over his heli. It was no surprise to find that Alan used the proven DSM2 technology built into the Spektrum DX7 transmitter en route to a convincing victory in the heli portion of the XFC. Alan demonstrated an all-new series of ratcheting style chaos and tic-tocks, along with other very impressive maneuvers such as his new four-point pyro flips. Alan is a true competitor and champion. Well done Alan and congratulations.

40% of the top ten competitors in the airplane portion of the 2007 XFC used either the Spektrum DX7 radio system or a JR Radio featuring Spektrum technology. In the heli competition, 30% of the top ten competitors used either the Spektrum DX7 or JR Radios with Spektrum technology to compete. While that’s impressive, the winners of both the airplane and heli divisions used Spektrum technology to help them secure their victories. There was absolutely no stopping the pilots using Spektrum technology at the 2007 XFC.
