The full-scale General Electric P42 is also known as the "Genesis" locomotive, and is a modern 4200-horsepower passenger locomotive used across the United States and Canada. VIA Rail's recent acquisition of P42 locomotives brought an attractive new paint scheme, designed to match new passenger cars acquired from Europe. Kato's N-scale model features a popular white LED headlight, magnetic knuckle couplers, printed and lighted number boards, MU hose detail, a powerful five-pole motor with dual brass flywheels, DCC-friendly mechanism and more. It's also equipped with all-wheel electrical pick-up and blackened metal wheels.
