VOTING RIGHTS

Rams Memberships expire December 31st of this year. To be able to vote at our January meeting for officers, you must have a current AMA card and have a current Rams Membership. If you haven’t renewed your AMA, do it now, you can renew your Rams Membership for 2010 anytime now forward provided you have your renewed AMA card for 2010. If you do not renew in time, you won’t be able to vote for officers, as our bi-laws require that you’re both a Rams Member and have a Current AMA Membership. Remember, in December we nomenate officers, in January we vote. Please pass the word on this so that everyone knows. Thanks,

LAKE RAMS UNDER WATER

I just came from the field, 70% underwater. The ducks geese are the only one’s flying today! Saw two deer! Of course last night I saw pink elephants too, so… can’t go by me!

AUCTION / SALE

At our next meeting (November 4th) we’ll be auctioning off our three riding mowers, the Bolens, The Murray and the Simplicity. Opening bids will start at $99. on each unit. They are being sold as is to make room for our brand new Cub Cadet 50 inch riding mower. That will give us three grass cutting mowers, the large Tractor, The DR and now the New Cub. This is a good chance for you to pick up a nice riding mower for under a hundred bucks. These are being offered to our members first, after November 4th they’ll be open to the pubic for sale. STANDING WATER

With all the rain we’ve had the field has standing water in spots, about 30 to 50% is under water as of Friday afternoon with more rain coming our way. It’s safe to say that flying now will be a hit and miss provided that we can find room to take off and land between standing water! So is this the end of our flying season? We’ll see, just be careful, the creek is full and should you need to retrieve a down plane, the water gets deep in those tall weeds.

In the November newsletter it’ll say from our October meeting that I said ”nominations for officers will be in November” I stand corrected, nominations are in December with the vote in January.

LAST CUT?

With all the rain coming and the cold, this “last cut” may have been it for the season? We’re only a short time from November 1st and the growing season will end, grass will stop growing. Mark and I agree, this should end the grass cutting for the this season. At our November meeting, we will discuss new equipment, selling off the old while looking at our field needs for 2010. Our large tractor (not for sale) will be gone over and made ready for our 2010 season. We’re closing out 2009 in good shape, the field is improving and each year we get better at “fixing what’s broke” so should Mother Nature bless us with a nice summer next year, we’ll be ready to get the field up and in good shape early. But more about all this at the November meeting, hope to see you there.
